How to Sew Chain Stitch

Chain stitch is very simple, but is a very useful stitch. I have used it on my Monarch Butterfly, Ladybirds and Puppy Paws patterns.

Make a small stitch.

On this piece I am using my knitting as a guide to make my stitches an even length, but you can sew in any direction.

Wrap your wool around the needle and pull the needle and wool through

Repeat this starting your next stitch inside the first

Pull the needle through to make the next link in the chain

Repeat until you have made a long chain of stitches
